EMDR Therapy

Meet John Whittington

My name is John Whittington and being a therapist is my joy and passion. I believe every person has the right to a fulfilling, purposeful, and satisfying life. Every person has intrinsic value that is worth discovering/rediscovering and celebrating. I truly enjoy listening and talking with people and feel so honored as I join with them in their journey of growth and the possibilities of a satisfying and connected life. I attended Biola University in La Mirada earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and Vanguard University in Costa Mesa and completed a Master of Science degree in clinical psychology. I am EMDR trained, a certified FOCUS therapist, and been a certified MAP therapist. I have worked in county funded agencies for several years assisting children, teens, families, and adults. I have over 16 years experience helping others, for the last 7 years I have been practicing therapy. I’m also passionate about volunteering with foster children here at home and also traveled to Mexico, Honduras, and Ethiopia to assist children and families in need. I enjoy spending time with my sons, family, and friends, and enjoy outdoor and indoor activities such as sailing, hiking, skiing, concerts, reading, and the theater – especially Broadway.
